I've been admiring a comic strip created by Scots cartoonist Dudley T. Watkins; THE BROONS (1936-continued by other artists up to present). Such a wealth of attitudes in each frame. In the art books they might say the dramatic posing is "worthy of Daumier". (Humiliation and shame were a prominent part of the series' humor.)
