LATELY? PNEUMONIA!
I hope to feel up to updating soon. I don't like being ill. When I was a kid, being sick and watching TV was a blast. Nowadays, I can barely keep my noggin up.

BOOK IN PROGRESS: CLR JAMES
The site Truthout has previewed a few pages from my current project, a 100 page + cartoon biography of CLR James, a Trinidadian journalist and activist.
I will admit I was not knowledgeable of his story before I took on the project, but the research has taught me a lot of important stuff. The editor (who knew him late in life) has commented that it seems as if I had discussed the book with him. More previews and information about James here... http://truth-out.org/opinion/item/23254-clr-james-back-in-style-black-in-style-a-review-and-a-comic
From article:
"This marks the first appearance of excerpts from C.L.R. James, a Graphic History, a comic art book in process, drawn by distinguished African American artist Milton Knight, edited by Paul Buhle. The excerpts – young Trinidadian James grows to self-consciousness and emigrates to London, writes a play about Toussaint Louverture, with Paul Robeson starring – are easily understood."
Easily understood; that's a comment I like hearing more than you might guess.
Best Wishes,
Milt

THOUGHT ON COMMERCIALS
Too many commercials begin with some slick youngster strutting into a room in slo-mo, past impressed onlookers, and...oops, shut it off.

FEELINGS WO-WO-WO, FEELINGS
I've put work into my little yard, and had it nice & green, spouting flowers and clover. Yesterday, I found one of the landlord's handymen "mowed" it with a weed whacker, eliminating everything & exposing large brown patches of ground. It still makes me sick to look at it, and wonder when the new seeds will kick in. How could someone destroy clover and a garden and regard it as a job well done? It's alien thinking to me. Just so stupid and strange...
This cretinous barbarian would have to be mentally deficient, a sadist or blind. Like most human beings, he is only a consumer of food and a producer of feces.
Or am I being too negative?

FROM THE GARBAGE BIN TO THE AUCTION BLOCK
I'm ambiguous on the fact that I find that 3 or 4 groups of artwork I garbage binned to make space (and because it wasn't my best) is now on auction. My own attempts to sell my originals usually meet with utter indifference.http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/25761968_9-original-cartoon-drawings-art-by-milton-knight-jr
