BUZZIN' THE BERKELEY

Today, three distinctive (some would call them 'weird') recordings of songs by Warren & Dubin for the  Vitaphone musical GOLDDIGGERS OF 1933. All numbers were choreographed by Busby Berkeley, and all were famously used in the studio's "Merrie Melodies" cartoons.

"Shuffle Off to Buffalo" debuted in 42nd STREET; in German, the song is respun into a love song, "Marikka".

"Pettin' in the Park", sung by a robust (and uniquely, black) quartet.

In Italian, "We're in the Money", a sparkling performance by a classically trained duet.

Spectacularly Yours,
